Bytesize Icons
A tiny but mighty set of 101 hand-coded SVG stroke icons by Dan Klammer, where every visual property - weight, color, size, and edge style - is fully CSS-controllable.
Bytesize Icons is a passion project by Dan Klammer, born from a deep exploration of the SVG path specification. Every one of the 101 icons is hand-coded along a precise 32x32 grid using SVG stroke rather than fills, which unlocks a level of CSS flexibility that filled icon sets simply cannot match. You can control the stroke weight with stroke-width, toggle between round and square edges with stroke-linecap and stroke-linejoin, adjust color with stroke, and scale freely - all from CSS with no image regeneration needed. The icons were crafted using the fewest possible path points to keep shapes clean and file sizes minimal: all 101 icons weigh just 11.7KB uncompressed (3.2KB gzipped). Recommended by Bootstrap for its technical excellence, Bytesize Icons is especially popular with developers who want precise programmatic control over icon appearance. The set covers essential UI needs: navigation, media controls, communication, files, social, and more. Licensed under MIT - attribution is not required but is encouraged.
